After making movies with dark subjects like ‘Black’, ‘Sawaariya’, ‘Guzaarish’, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali wants to break away from the trend and make a fun romantic film like his ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’.
He had recently told a tabloid that he was making a romantic movie this time around.
“I am making a musical film with a lot of romance,” Sanjay Leela Bhansali had said.
This musical romantic movie will be inspired by none other than William Shakespeare’s epic tragedy Romeo and Juliet.
The movie will be based in Gujarat and the director has already started to get the team together. He is also planning on starting the pre-productions works by the month of April.
“Bhansali has already started getting his team together for the pre production. Since the film is based in Gujarat, the production will take a lot of time. Bhansali will make an announcement about his venture soon,” said a source to TOI.
Earlier it was rumored that Sanjay Leela Bhansali was planning on reviving in his ambitious project ‘Bajirao Mastani’ with Aishwarya Rai and Shah Rukh Khan.
But it seems like the director wants to cast a fresh pairing in his romantic venture, as he is keen on casting Kareena Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles.
“Sanjay Leela Bhansali has already discussed his plans with Kareena. He is now awaiting her reply. He is yet to speak to Ranveer about his intentions to cast him in the film,” added the source.
But both Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his spokesperson have denied the reports.
