Hrithik Roshan-Priyanka Chopra-Sanjay Dutt starrer Agneepath has set the Indian Box Office on fire with its’ record breaking collections on the opening day of its’ release. Going by the statistics, it is quite possible that Karan Johar’s remake film, directed by Karan Malhotra becomes the biggest blockbuster of India in the year 2012.
Bollywood movie Agneepath set a record on the first day (Thursday) by grossing Rs 23 crore net at the Indian Box Office. With this Agneepath has not only broken the opening day box office record of Shahrukh Khan’s Ra.One, but has also managed to beat Salman Khan’s Bodyguard, which has so far been the biggest box office Bollywood opener in recent years.
Shahrukh’s Ra.One had garnered Rs 18.5 crore at the box office on the opening day. This includes the Hindi and South Indian versions as well. However, Ra.One failed to surpass Salman’s Bodyguard as the Salman-Kareena film fetched Rs 21.5 crore at the Indian Box Office on the first day.
According to trade analysts and Box Office gurus, though Agneepath’s collections is likely to drop on Friday since it’s a working day, the film should rake in Rs 20 crore each day on Saturday and Sunday.
In most probabilities, Agneepath’s first weekend collections should exceed Rs 75 crore net at the Box Office. Bodyguard had grossed Rs 85.50 crore net in the five day weekend.
If we were to go by the record, Agneepath is a sure winner at the box office and will give Ra.One and even Bodyguard a run for money!
