Amitabh-Rajinikanth coming together for a film

The latest buzz doings rounds in b-town is that Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachchan and Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth might come together on the silver screen after 28 years. Puri Jagannath (of ‘Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap” fame) is likely to have managed this casting coup.

Rajanikanth’s position in the South Indian Film industry equals or rather is more than that of Amitabh Bachchan’s in Bollywood. Now, picture this… what happens when these two stalwarts of their respective film industries come together on big screen.

As per reports, Puri has met Rajni in Chennai and narrated the story idea to him. Rajni has liked the idea and will start working for the project once he wraps up his daughter Soundarya’s film. Rajni is very excited to work with Big B again and is looking forward to the film.

Puri, who has already worked with Big B in Buddah Hoga Tera Baap, confirmed the story and said, "Yes, I met Rajini Sir in Chennai. I've wanted to work with him for the longest time. So far I hadn't dared to approach him because I could not think of a role that would do him justice. It's been my life-long dream to direct Amitji and Rajini Sir."

Rajnikanth and Amitabh have been good friends for long time and in the past they have done Bollywood films like Andha Kanoon and Giraftar. The last time the two legends shared the screen space was in Late Director Mukul Anand's Hum in 1991.

If all goes well, Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth are both going to ablaze the silver screen together again.
